Prior to joining Apollo full time, Richard was executive chairman of Band-X a company he co-founded in 1997 as a centralised trading exchange for communications capacity. Band-X was sold in 2007.
From 1987 to 1997 he was at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson and as a director of the securities division advised institutional and corporate clients on valuation and investment. Of particular note were the financings of COLT, Telewest, Energis, and Orange. This was preceded by three years at the university of Edinburgh and six years service in the British Army. Richard is a Member of the Securities and Investment Institute and a Member of the Institute of Cancer Research.
Daniel Hughes joined Apollo in January 2008 as Sales and Marketing Director. Prior to joining Apollo Daniel worked for Verizon Business within the International Network Engineering group. In this role he was involved in the expansion and development of the Verizon Business global network from 2000 through both private acquisition and through the development and implementation of consortium submarine cable systems. Additionally he was the Investment and Agreement Co Chair for both the SMW4 and TPE cable systems as well as the MC Chair for the EIG system. Daniel is a BSc Geology and MSc Geophysics graduate from The University of Birmingham.
Prior to joining Apollo, Jackie had worked at Cable and Wireless (Marine and Plc) from 1986. Jackie held a variety of roles such as Company Secretary and spent 12 years as Legal Director when she was responsible for all acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures.
Jackie has over 20 years experience in international submarine cable systems as both a supplier and purchaser. In the early years of her telecoms career she was involved in ACMA and the development and management of consortium and private submarine systems such as PTAT and Gemini.
Jackie is a Barrister being called to the Bar in 1984. Jackie is also a qualified Chartered Secretary and through her involvement in providing commercial and legal training she obtained a post graduate certificate in Education.
A graduate of New College, Oxford Steve qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Thomson McLintock & Co in 1981. Steve joined the Cable & Wireless group as an internal auditor in 1988 and went on to work for various Cable & Wireless business units in London, Bermuda, USA and Australia. He was involved in various submarine cable projects from PTAT-1 through to Gemini. Steve was appointed Finance Director on 29 October 2007.
Maja Summers joined Apollo in March 2009 as the Operations Director. Prior to joining Apollo Maja was the Head of the Submarine Systems Engineering team in Cable & Wireless since 2005. In that role Maja was involved with the design, implementation and operation of a number of private and consortium submarine cable systems. Maja has an Engineering degree from University of Belgrade, Serbia and PhD from London South Bank University.
