Jackie Fitzgerald was appointed Apollo’s Managing Director on 1 March 2007 having joined the company as Finance Director in July 2004. Jackie has many years’ experience in telecommunications and headed the finance team at Cable & Wireless Network Services where she was involved in numerous international submarine cable and satellite projects. After leaving Cable & Wireless Jackie joined MCI, where she was seconded into Gemini as Finance Director. Jackie is a Chartered Management Accountant and has a Combined Honours degree in French and Spanish from King's College, University of London.
Daniel Hughes joined Apollo in January 2008 as Sales and Marketing Director. Prior to joining Apollo Daniel worked for Verizon Business within the International Network Engineering group. In this role he was involved in the expansion and development of the Verizon Business global network from 2000 through both private acquisition and through the development and implementation of consortium submarine cable systems. Additionally he was the Investment and Agreement Co Chair for both the SMW4 and TPE cable systems. Daniel is a BSc Geology and MSc Geophysics graduate from The University of Birmingham.
Prior to joining Apollo, Jackie had worked at Cable and Wireless (Marine and Plc) from 1986. Jackie held a variety of roles such as Company Secretary and spent 12 years as Legal Director when she was responsible for all acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures.
Jackie has over 20 years experience in international submarine cable systems as both a supplier and purchaser. In the early years of her telecoms career she was involved in ACMA and the development and management of consortium and private submarine systems such as PTAT and Gemini.
Jackie is a Barrister being called to the Bar in 1984. Jackie is also a qualified Chartered Secretary and through her involvement in providing commercial and legal training she obtained a post graduate certificate in Education.
Claire joined the Apollo team in September 2004, after several years of working within Cable & Wireless. Claire’s varied portfolio includes customer relations and events organisation as well as responsibility for the day to day running of the Apollo offices in Covent Garden.
A graduate of New College, Oxford Steve qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Thomson McLintock & Co in 1981. Steve joined the Cable & Wireless group as an internal auditor in 1988 and went on to work for various Cable & Wireless business units in London, Bermuda, USA and Australia. He was involved in various submarine cable projects from PTAT-1 through to Gemini. Steve was appointed Finance Director on 29 October 2007.
Lynsey Thomas joined Apollo in May 2008 as the Operations Director. Prior to joining Apollo Lynsey was the Manager of the Submarine Systems Engineering team in Cable & Wireless. In this role Lynsey was involved with the design, implementation and operation of a number of private and consortium submarine cable systems. Most recently Lynsey was the co-Chair of the Procurement Committee and Chair of the Commercial Working Group for the Europe India Gateway cable system ensuring successful execution of the Supply Contract. Lynsey has a Masters degree in Engineering Science from Balliol College, Oxford University.
